(MLG; President and CEO: Osamu Sakurada; Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) today announced its participation in the new \u201cBlue Action Net-Zero Alliance\u201d program launched by Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President &amp; CEO: Takeshi Hashimoto; Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo) to contribute to the Scope 3 reduction for customers who use marine transport. MLG, as an MOL Group company, is engaged in enhancing low-carbon marine transport services using alternative fuels in cooperation with stakeholders involved in marine transport with the aim of achieving net-zero emissions.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-301\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mol-logistics-group.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/02\/blue-action-netzero-1024x493.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"756\" height=\"364\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mol-logistics-group.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/02\/blue-action-netzero-1024x493.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.mol-logistics-group.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/02\/blue-action-netzero-300x144.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mol-logistics-group.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/02\/blue-action-netzero-768x369.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.mol-logistics-group.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/02\/blue-action-netzero.jpg 1133w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 756px) 100vw, 756px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0In February 2024, MOL became the first shipping company in the Asia-Pacific region to make the environmental attributes of low-carbon voyages using alternative fuels <sup>(Note <\/sup><sup>1<\/sup><sup>)<\/sup> tradable as digital certificates on a platform built in collaboration with the Dutch startup 123Carbon B.V. <sup>(Note <\/sup><sup>2<\/sup><sup>)<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, MOL has established a system that can ensure operations from implementing low-carbon voyages using alternative fuels in the MOL Group-operated fleet to issuing digital certificates and allotting them to customers, and MLG is now able to allot MOL-issued digital certificates to MLG customers using the same platform.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-302\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mol-logistics-group.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/02\/howtonetzero_en-1024x506.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"844\" height=\"417\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mol-logistics-group.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/02\/howtonetzero_en-1024x506.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.mol-logistics-group.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/02\/howtonetzero_en-300x148.png 300w, https:\/\/www.mol-logistics-group.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/02\/howtonetzero_en-768x380.png 768w, https:\/\/www.mol-logistics-group.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/02\/howtonetzero_en-1536x759.png 1536w, https:\/\/www.mol-logistics-group.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/02\/howtonetzero_en-2048x1012.png 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 844px) 100vw, 844px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>[This program will accelerate the realization of net-zero ocean transport services]<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>The digital certificates traded with customers under the program contain environmental attributes (including GHG emission reduction data quantified in units of t-CO2e and details of the relevant low-carbon voyage) to be assigned to the customer for details of the relevant low-carbon voyage undertaken by the MOL Group-operated fleet.<\/li>\n<li>The customer that has been allotted a digital certificate can reflect its activities for Scope 3 reduction from ocean transport services in its integrated reports, etc., based on the description in the digital certificate.<\/li>\n<li>Digital certificates are traded on a book-and-claim basis.
