Logistics Service in Africa
Optimized Inventory and Delivery for Stable Supply in Africa
Quality-Controlled Logistics for Medical Devices and Pharmaceuticals in Africa
Centered around our Nairobi branch in Kenya, we support healthcare logistics across East Africa. Through a strategic partnership with a medical supplies manufacturer, we have accumulated specialized handling expertise, ensuring high transport quality with the meticulous service characteristic of Japanese companies. To meet the growing demand for cold-chain logistics in Africa, we are pursuing optimal low-temperature and temperature-controlled solutions, including the development of a base in the Mombasa Special Economic Zone. With this foundation, we continue to strengthen our capabilities to support the region's expanding logistics needs.
CHALLENGE
- It is essential to ensure a stable supply from inventory management to delivery for cargo such as pharmaceuticals that require temperature control.
- We are facing challenges in ensuring quality and maintaining smooth communication with local transportation and customs clearance brokers.
- We want to build a highly reliable logistics system that ensures seamless delivery across a wide area of Africa.
FEATURES
Providing end-to-end management of all logistics processes, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient transportation.
Proven Healthcare Logistics Experience in Africa
We propose optimal storage and transportation environments— including temperature and air-conditioning control—tailored to the characteristics of medical devices and consumables. Anticipating future demand, we are building a sustainable logistics framework that incorporates low-temperature and temperature-controlled (cold chain) solutions. We provide end-to-end support, from international transportation and complex local customs clearance to final delivery within Kenya, eliminating the risk of logistics disruptions while reducing lead times and optimizing costs. Furthermore, through inventory management and handling based on Japanese-quality standards, we prevent cargo damage and contribute to enhancing the reliability of medical logistics in the African market.
Reliable Local Support Through Our Japan Desk in Kenya
A Japanese representative is stationed at our Nairobi branch, providing timely updates on the latest local logistics conditions and complex regulatory requirements, enabling swift decision-making in Japanese language. We also offer practical, locally grounded advice tailored to the needs of Japanese companies on Africa-specific business practices, import/export regulations, and route development. Beyond simple transport arrangements, we act as a trusted logistics partner, working alongside our customers to resolve challenges across their entire supply chain.
Nairobi Warehouse with High-Quality Management Systems
In addition to accurate inventory management through our WMS (Warehouse Management System), dedicated staff enforce a strict triple-check process to prevent shipping errors. Our prime location—near the airport and approximately 1.1 km from the SGR inland container depot in Nairobi—enables fast and efficient delivery. We provide safe and reliable warehouse services through licensing operations based on product characteristics and regulatory requirements, combined with rigorous quality control. We also flexibly offer value-added services directly linked to local sales, such as applying quality assurance stickers.
Wide-Reaching Logistics Network Across Africa
Our expert staff, who are deeply familiar with the infrastructure and customs clearance systems of East African countries, provide total logistics solutions that optimally combine sea, air and land transports. Using the ports of Mombasa (Kenya) and Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) as gateways, we ensure stable inland transport to neighboring countries such as Uganda, Rwanda, Zambia, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. We also offer flexible services including temporary storage, partial deliveries, and redistribution. In addition, we support the rapidly growing flows of cargo from India and the Middle East to Africa by providing integrated logistics management from origin to final destination. Through the combined strengths of the MOL Group network and our partnership with the Alistair Group, we jointly deliver end-to-end logistics services— from forwarding and customs clearance to inland transportation.
Enhancing Healthcare Logistics in Africa with Revital
We have signed a memorandum of understanding with Revital Healthcare, a major Kenyan manufacturer of medical supplies, for a strategic partnership, and we are advancing initiatives to strengthen healthcare logistics. In the Mombasa Special Economic Zone (SEZ), we plan to establish the first Japan-affiliated advanced logistics hub dedicated to medical products and equipment. In addition to strict inventory control using a Warehouse Management System (WMS), we will offer value-added services tailored to local needs, such as kitting and repacking. Looking ahead, we aim to build a system capable of temperature-controlled and frozen logistics, creating a logistics hub that supports the stable supply of medical products across Africa. By combining the manufacturing expertise of a medical-supply producer with our logistics capabilities, we will contribute to solving healthcare supply-chain challenges throughout the African region.
