TOKYO – MOL Logistics (Japan) Co., Ltd., (President: Toshifumi Kato) today announced that its subsidiary MOL Logistics (Vietnam) Inc. (MLG Vietnam) opened a new office in Thai Binh Province, northern Vietnam, effective May 16.

Thai Binh Province is in the Red River Delta, about a three-hour drive from Hanoi and about two hours from Haiphong, where the apparel production industry is thriving and moderate labor costs are attracting labor-intensive enterprises. Recently, access from Thai Binh Province to Haiphong, northern Vietnam’s major port, has been improved, drawing more Japanese companies to the area.

MLG Vietnam moved into Thai Binh Province, where few Japanese logistics companies are doing business, to provide customers – mostly manufacturers – with a range of services, mainly ocean and air forwarding and arrangement of domestic transport including export/import customs clearance and drayage. It will also propose various logistics operations such as moving plant facilities for customers setting up manufacturing bases in the region.

MLG Vietnam was established in November 2005. With the new office in Thai Binh, it has a total of five locations, including the Ho Chi Minh City headquarters, and branches in Hanoi, Haiphong, and Hai Duong.
