TOKYO-MOL Logistics (Japan) Co., Ltd. (MLG) [President: Shuhei Togo] today announced that its subsidiary in the Philippines, MOL Logistics Philippines Inc. (MLG Philippines) has opened its Pre-Delivery Inspection Center (PDI Center), a dedicated facility for completed cars at the Port of Batangas.
The MLG Philippines PDI Center is located in the Asian Terminals Inc. (ATI) at the Port of Batangas, 110 km south of Metro Manila, and the total floor area is about 15,000m2. The center offers high-quality pre-delivery inspection (PDI) services including water leak test, minor and painting repairs, and vehicle washing, as well as import customs clearance and temporary storage.
In the ASEAN region, where automobile sales continue to grow, demand has also increased in recent years for logistics services to enhance supply chain efficiency, for both locally produced vehicles and those imported into the region. Among ASEAN member countries, the Philippines is seeing not only a population increase but also projected growth in per capita GDP to over $3,000, indicating robust growth for logistics as well as continued expansion in the automobile market.
