MOL Logistics (Myanmar) Selected as Logistics Partner of JFE Meranti Myanmar – Providing Total Logistics Service under Subcontractor Agreement –

TOKYO-MOL Logistics (Japan) Co., Ltd. (MLG; President: Shuhei Togo) today announced that its subsidiary in Myanmar, MOL Logistics (Myanmar) Co., Ltd. (MLG Myanmar) has been selected as a logistics partner of JFE Meranti Myanmar Co., Ltd. (JMM), which manufactures and markets hot-dipped galvanized and colored flat steel products for the building and construction sector in the Thilawa Special Economic Zone (SEZ) locate in the southern part of Yangon. MLG Myanmar concluded a subcontractor agreement for overall logistics services such as customs clearance of raw materials and products for the hot-dip galvanizing line and color coating line in the JMM’s plant, truck transport between the port and plant, vanning and devanning in the plant, and domestic delivery within Myanmar. MLG Myanmar’s services are already underway.

MLG Myanmar was established in March 2016, and launched its services in May of the same year. Since then, it has offered international air and sea forwarding, equipment and project cargo transport, export and import customs clearance, domestic truck transport, warehousing, and other related logistics services. In addition, the MLG Group has developed various logistics services through 126 locations in 26 countries. MOL Logistics (Vietnam) Inc. and MOL Logistics (India) Pvt. Ltd., and MOL Group Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (Thailand) Co., Ltd. have accumulated strong track records and knowledge in coil transport, which requires advanced cargo handling techniques. And now, MLG Myanmar has earned high marks for MLG and MOL Group collective capabilities including unparalleled knowledge and advanced transport techniques, which have been accumulated within the group, factors that led to its selection as a JMM partner.

Myanmar has shown rapid economic growth since its democratization in 2011, and demand is expanding rapidly in the construction sector for flat steel products used in roofs, walls, and structures. As JMM boosts its local production, MLG Myanmar will contribute to its ongoing success, and Myanmar’s economic growth, as a logistics partner offering unique solutions to support its supply chain.
