MOL Logistics Holds Opening Ceremony for Nairobi Branch – Operations Fully Underway at 1st Japanese Logistics Company Branch in Kenya –

TOKYO-MOL Logistics (Japan) Co., Ltd. (President: Tetsuya Minato) yesterday (March, 13) held an opening ceremony for the MOL Logistics Holding (Europe) B.V. Nairobi Branch at the Sankara Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya, hosting customers, government officials, and other concerned parties.

In all, about 70 people were on hand for the ceremony, including Japanese Ambassador to Kenya HE Toshitsugu Uesawa, Symon K. Wahome, Head Inland Container Depots for the Kenya Ports Authority, representatives of the Japanese and Kenyan governments, customers, and business partners.

MOL Logistics (Japan) President Minato told the gathering, “As the first Japanese logistics company to establish a branch in Kenya, a nation where we anticipate future economic growth, we launched our efforts on May 25, 2017, and our operations are fully underway to contribute to economic growth all over the African continent.”

Japanese Ambassador Uesawa told the gathering, “I believe MOL Logistics’ diverse, high-quality services will contribute to the growth of the African economy, through the Northern Corridor, which is the fruit of the African Development Conference.”

Wahome commented, “We appreciate Japan’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) for the Port of Mombasa and MOL Logistics’ taking the lead in moving into Kenya. Cross-border logistics from the Port of Mombasa to countries all over Africa will expand.”

MOL Logistics meets various customer logistics needs with know-how accumulated through its global network and the group-wide capabilities in cooperation with MOL Group companies, under the flag of “One MOL.”
