MOL Logistics Forms New Organization to Enhance Import/Export Services of Perishables & Food Products
TOKYO – MOL Logistics (Japan) Co., Ltd., (President: Toshifumi Kato) today announced a restructuring to enhance services for import and export of perishables & food products and formed a new organization, the Perishable & Food Sales Group, effective April 1.
MOL Logistics (Japan) has allocated dedicated staff members in the business group of the Import Sales Department to offer services for perishables & food products. Taking into account recent increases in imports of fresh foods and exports of luxury food items from Japan mainly to other Asian nations, MOL Logistics formed the new Perishable & Food Sales Group to enhance those business operations and upgrade customer services.
The company’s dedicated veteran staff members have extensive experience in transport of fresh foods, which requires specialized know-how, can respond promptly various logistics needs by handling such as legal procedures (quarantine, food and sanitation inspections, etc.), customs clearance, delivery, and warehousing services as well as air and ocean shipping export and import forwarding and temperature and humidity controlled transport in an integrated manner within the group.
In the air forwarding industry, MOL Logistics has proactively taken the lead in transport of perishable foods such as maguro (tuna) from Boston and salmon, sujiko (salted salmon roe), ikura (salmon roe), and shirako (soft roe) from Seattle and Anchorage in the U.S. The company’s overseas subsidiaries are located in countries of origins for major perishables & food products cargoes, including the U.S. at the head of the list, as well as Australia, the Netherlands, China, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. This positions the company closer than ever with overseas subsidiaries to offer reliable and safe logistics services for perishables & food products.
