TOKYO – MOL Logistics (Japan) Co., Ltd., (President: Tetsuya Minato) today announced that on October 25, it held an opening ceremony for its new subsidiary in Myanmar, MOL Logistics (Myanmar) Co., Ltd., at Chatrium Hotel Royal Lake Yangon in Myanmar.
On hand for the ceremony were about 100 guests including customers, contractors, business partners, and government officials from Japan and Myanmar, including Ichiro Maruyama, Minister-Counselor of the Embassy of Japan in Myanmar, U.H.E. Mya Thaung, Minister-Yangon Region Government, Planning & Finance, and Masaharu Nakagawa, Vice Chairman of the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Myanmar (JCCM).
MOL Logistics (Japan) President Minato expressed his aspirations for the new company, saying, “We will develop business as your logistics partner, maintain networks and close relationships with the U.S., Europe, and Asian nations, and hope to contribute to the growth of international logistics in Myanmar, where democratic and economic reforms are accelerating.”
MOL Logistics (Japan) received words of praise from JCCM Vice Chairman Nakagawa, who said, “We are deliriously happy that MOL Logistics (Myanmar) has started operation in a milestone year after elections last year and removal of U.S. economic sanctions earlier this month. I hope it will leap even farther ahead and contribute to the growth of Myanmar, where the importance of logistics is growing every day.”
MOL Logistics (Myanmar) started operation in May of this year as a joint company with Ever Flow River Forwarding & General Services Co., Ltd. (EFR)
