MOL Logistics Signs Agency Agreement with Malaysia’s PKT Logistics Group

April 19, 2019

TOKYO-MOL Logistics (Japan) Co., Ltd. (President: Shuhei Togo) today announced that, effective April 1, it signed an agency agreement with PKT Logistics Group Sdn. Bhd. (PKT), a leader in Malaysia’s logistics industry that offers total logistics services including forwarding, customs clearance, inland transport, distribution processing, and inventory/delivery management.

PKT has cutting-edge logistics centers such as One Logistics Hub (warehouse floor area: 55,000 m2) in a suburb of Kuala Lumpur and One Auto Hub (warehouse floor area: 60,000 m2) in Penang to meet a range of customer logistics needs, with a particular focus on automotive and electrical/electronic product manufacturers that have established operations in these regions. Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (President & CEO: Junichiro Ikeda) acquired a 35.13% stake in PKT through investments in March 2017 and August 2018.

MOL Logistics (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of MOL Logistics (Japan), moved its headquarters to PKT’s One Logistics Hub in November 2017, and since then has built a good relationship with the company. The conclusion of the agency contract will integrate PKT’s logistics network in Malaysia and MOL Logistics’ global network, allowing the companies to strengthen and expand both inbound and outbound international logistics services in Malaysia. Through its synergy with PKT, MOL Logistics will more effectively meet demand for logistics services in Malaysia and surrounding regions, where it anticipates stable growth in the future.

MOL Logistics continually develops and expands its worldwide logistics network, and offers high-quality total logistics services while working in close partnership with customers.
