Maruzen Show Unyu Co., Ltd. and MOL Logistics Co., Ltd. (MLG) today announced that the Japan Association for the International Horticultural Exposition 2027, Yokohama has selected their joint venture as the “Recommended Logistics Service Provider” and “Designated On-site Cargo Handler” for the event.

The exposition is expected to draw a large number of exhibitors and visitors from Japan and abroad, and will require a large volume of cargo that will be displayed, used, and consumed at the venue. The cargo will need to be brought in, taken out, imported, and re-exported. The association decided to select “recommended logistics service providers” and “designated on-site cargo handlers” through public solicitation as transporters and customs brokers with sufficient facilities and personnel to ensure the smooth operation of the exposition.

Among these, “recommended logistics service providers” will facilitate the selection of companies involved in transporting cargo to the expo site, customs clearance procedures, and cargo handling. The “designated on-site cargo handler” will be commissioned by the participants to handle cargo safely and provide all logistics-related support required by participants.

Eight “recommended logistics service providers” (including two “designated on-site cargo handlers”) and two “designated on-site cargo handlers” were selected.

The Maruzen Showa Transportation-MOL Logistics Joint Venture (tentative name), along with their group companies, will contribute to the exposition’s purpose of “presenting a Japanese model that contributes to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and also looks ahead to the future society” through development of Society 5.0, implementation of green infrastructure, revitalization of agriculture and rural areas through promotion of floral and horticultural culture, and so on, promotion of tourism and regional development, by supporting the 2027 International Horticultural Expo. The event’s objective is to “contribute to the promotion of international horticulture and landscaping, to a life overflowing with flowers and greenery, to regional and economic creation, and the resolution of social issues.”
